The Bookmarks Bar gives you one-click access to your most important folders and locations, right at the top of the Path Finder window.
It’s separate from the Sidebar and is ideal for a small set of “always relevant” locations.
Turn on the Bookmarks Bar
If you don’t see the Bookmarks Bar:
Open Path Finder.
In the menu bar, click View > Bookmarks Bar to enable it.
You’ll see a horizontal bar appear below the toolbar.
Use the same menu item again to hide it if you don’t want it visible.
Add bookmarks
To add a bookmark:
Navigate to the folder you want to bookmark.
Drag the folder icon (or the folder itself from the browser) onto the Bookmarks Bar.
Release when you see the insertion highlight.
A clickable bookmark will appear with the folder’s name.
You can add:
Project folders
External drive locations
Network paths
Any folder you frequently open
Use bookmarks
To open a bookmarked location:
Simply click the bookmark in the Bookmarks Bar.
The main browser will switch to that folder immediately.
Rename or reorder bookmarks
Reorder bookmarks
Click and drag a bookmark left or right on the Bookmarks Bar.
Drop it where you want it to appear.
Put your most-used folders on the left for quicker access.
Rename bookmarks
(If supported in your version)
Right-click a bookmark and look for a Rename or similar option,
or remove and re-add it with a different folder name if needed.
Remove a bookmark
To remove a bookmark:
Click and hold the bookmark on the bar.
Drag it down and away from the Bookmarks Bar.
Release the mouse button.
This removes the shortcut only – it does not delete the actual folder.
Using both the Bookmarks Bar and Sidebar together gives you a very fast navigation setup:
Sidebar for broader structure,
Bookmarks Bar for your absolute top locations.
