The toolbar is the row of buttons at the top of the Path Finder window. You can customize it to match how you work and keep your most-used actions one click away.
Open the toolbar customization panel
Open Path Finder.
Right-click anywhere on the toolbar.
Choose Customize Toolbar…
A palette of available buttons and controls will appear.
Add, remove, and rearrange buttons
In the Customize Toolbar palette you can:
Add buttons: drag an icon from the palette onto the toolbar.
Remove buttons: drag an icon off the toolbar and release.
Rearrange buttons: drag icons left or right on the toolbar.
You can add shortcuts for actions such as:
Dual Pane
New Tab
View modes (Icon, List, Column, Cover Flow)
Drop Stack
Trash
Terminal
Other frequently used tools
At the bottom of the customization window, you can choose how toolbar items appear:
Icon and Text
Icon Only
Text Only
Pick the style that makes the most sense for your screen size and preferences.
Reset the toolbar
If you want to go back to the default setup:
Right-click the toolbar and choose Customize Toolbar…
Drag the default set (the big block of icons) up to the toolbar.
This will restore the original toolbar layout.
Customizing the toolbar is one of the fastest ways to make Path Finder feel “yours” and speed up everyday actions.
