Drop Stack is a temporary holding area for files and folders. It’s perfect when you want to collect items from different locations and move/copy them somewhere else in one go.
Enable the Drop Stack module
Open Path Finder.
In the menu bar, go to Window > Modules > Drop Stack.
Drag it to your preferred corner/edge if you want to reposition it.
Add items to Drop Stack
You can add items from any folder:
Select one or more files/folders.
Drag them into the Drop Stack module.
They will appear listed in the module, but they are not moved yet – they’re just staged there.
You can repeat this from multiple folders and volumes until you’ve collected everything you need.
Move or copy items from Drop Stack
Once Drop Stack contains the items you want:
Navigate in Path Finder to your destination folder (using tabs, dual-pane, sidebar, etc.).
Drag items from the Drop Stack module into the destination.
Depending on your modifier keys and settings, items will be copied or moved to that location.
Clear Drop Stack
After you’re done:
Many versions let you clear the Drop Stack via a button or context menu inside the module.
You can also remove individual items from Drop Stack if you change your mind.
Drop Stack doesn’t affect the original files until you actually drop them out of the module, so it’s safe to use as a “staging area”.
Drop Stack is especially useful when compiling attachments, gathering resources from multiple project folders, or doing complex reorganizations without constantly jumping back and forth
