When you copy or move multiple sets of files, Path Finder uses a File Copy Queue to keep everything under control. This helps you monitor progress and avoid overloading your system with too many simultaneous operations.
What the File Copy Queue does
The File Copy Queue:
Lists all active and pending copy/move operations
Shows progress for each task
Lets you pause, resume, or cancel operations
Helps prevent performance issues from too many large transfers at once
Instead of many overlapping copy dialogs, you get a centralized place to see what’s happening.
Viewing the File Copy Queue
Depending on your configuration and version, you can usually:
Open the Copy Queue window from a menu command or toolbar button (if you added one),
Or click a status indicator when a copy/move is in progress.
Once open, you’ll see each operation listed with size, progress, and destination.
Managing copy and move operations
In the File Copy Queue, you can typically:
Pause a job if it’s large and you want to free resources
Resume a paused job later
Cancel an operation you no longer need
Sometimes reorder tasks so important transfers run first (if supported in your version)
This level of control is especially useful when:
Copying or moving very large folders
Working with external drives or network volumes
Running multiple operations during a busy session
The File Copy Queue gives you visibility and control over long-running operations, so you’re not left guessing what your files are doing in the background.
