Path Finder works well alongside Dropbox, letting you manage your Dropbox content and see sync status directly from the file browser.
Note: Exact Dropbox features may vary by version. The information below describes the typical integration.
Use Dropbox like any other folder
When the Dropbox macOS client is installed:
Your Dropbox folder appears in your home folder (and in Path Finder).
You can:
Browse it in any view (Icon, List, Column, Cover Flow)
Use dual-pane, tabs, Drop Stack, and all Path Finder tools on Dropbox content
Drag and drop files in and out of Dropbox as usual
Dropbox handles the actual syncing in the background.
Sync indicators (if available)
On supported setups, you may see overlay icons on Dropbox items indicating:
Syncing in progress
Synced / up to date
Sync error
These help you quickly see whether files have been uploaded and synced.
Combine Dropbox with Path Finder features
Path Finder features that work especially well with Dropbox:
Batch Renaming – Clean up filenames before sharing folders
Tags and Color Labels – Mark important or shared files
Size Browser – See which Dropbox folders use the most space
Dual-pane view – Move content between local drives and Dropbox quickly
Drop Stack – Collect files from multiple locations and then drop them into a Dropbox folder at once
In most cases, if Dropbox is installed and logged in on your Mac, you don’t need any special setup in Path Finder—just treat the Dropbox folder like any other folder, with the added benefit of sync.
