The Size Browser helps you understand where your disk space is going by showing folder and file sizes in a structured view.
Open the Size Browser
Open Path Finder.
In the menu bar, go to Window > Size Browser.
A new Size Browser window (or panel) will appear.
Scan a folder
To analyze disk usage:
In the Size Browser, choose the folder or volume you want to scan (for example, your home folder or an external drive).
Path Finder will calculate the size of folders and files in that location.
The results appear as a list or tree, sorted by size.
You’ll see:
The total size of each folder
The size of individual files
A hierarchical view so you can drill down into subfolders
Find space hogs
The Size Browser is ideal for:
Identifying the largest folders and files on a disk
Finding old backups, large media files, or unnecessary archives
Deciding what to delete or move to free up space
You can:
Expand folders to see which subfolders are using the most space
Sort by size to bring the largest items to the top
Take action from the Size Browser
From within the Size Browser, you can:
Open folders in a regular Path Finder window
Delete or move files and folders you no longer need
Use other Path Finder tools (compression, copying, etc.) on selected items
Using Size Browser regularly helps keep your drives healthy and prevents the “suddenly out of disk space” problem by making large, forgotten data easy to find and clean up.
