Folder Merging lets you combine the contents of two folders cleanly, without manually copying everything yourself.
What Folder Merging does
Folder Merging:
Merges files from one folder into another
Handles conflicts when files with the same name already exist
Lets you choose how to treat newer vs older items
Merge two folders
To merge:
In Path Finder, locate the folders you want to merge.
Drag one folder onto another folder with the same name (or the desired target folder).
When prompted, choose Merge.
Path Finder will combine the contents of the two folders.
Handle conflicts and newer items
During merging, you may see options like:
Overwrite existing files
Skip files that already exist
Only copy newer items
This helps you:
Consolidate folders from different sources
Avoid duplicates or unintentional overwrites
Ensure that newer versions are preserved
Use Folder Merging when you’re consolidating backups, combining project folders, or cleaning up duplicated structures.
