FolderSync is a tool in Path Finder that synchronizes the contents of two folders, making sure they match according to rules you define.
What FolderSync does
FolderSync can:
Compare two folders and show differences
Copy missing or changed files from one side to the other
Work one-way (source → destination) or two-way (bidirectional)
It’s useful for backups, keeping projects in sync, or mirroring folders between drives.
Run FolderSync
In Path Finder, select the source folder.
In the menu bar, go to Commands > FolderSync.
Choose the destination folder in the FolderSync dialog.
Configure your options:
Sync direction – One-way or bidirectional
Conflict handling – Overwrite, skip, or prompt when files differ
Filters – Include or exclude specific file types or names
Click Synchronize to start.
Typical use cases
Backup – Keep a backup folder or external drive updated with changes
Team collaboration – Sync work between two machines or locations
Working copies – Maintain identical project folders on two disks
FolderSync helps automate repetitive manual copy/compare operations while still keeping you in control of what changes.
