Path Finder supports three modes of use: free trial, perpetual license (license key), and subscription (email-based).
You can manage all of them from Path Finder > Registration in the menu bar.
Start your 30-day free trial
The trial starts automatically the first time you run Path Finder.
Launch Path Finder from Applications.
Your 30-day free trial begins automatically on first launch – no sign-up required.
To see how many days you have left, go to Path Finder > Registration.
During the trial you have access to all major features so you can fully evaluate Path Finder.
Activate a license
If you bought a license (one-time purchase):
After purchase, the system sends you an invoice email that includes your license key.
To activate your license key:
Open the invoice email and locate your license key.
Update to the latest Path Finder version via Path Finder -> Check for updates
Launch Path Finder.
In the menu bar, go to Path Finder > Registration.
Click Activate Path Finder -> Activate License Key (if you don't see those buttons click on "<Back" button a couple of times"
Enter your license key, email that you used during purchase and the name for your computer
Click Activate License Key.
Path Finder will unlock from trial mode and switch to your licensed state.
Activate a subscription (email-based)
If you started a subscription:
Your subscription is tied to your email address, there's no license key!
To activate your subscription:
Launch Path Finder.
In the menu bar, go to Path Finder > Registration.
Click Activate Path Finder -> Activate Subscription
Click Sign In and enter the same email address you used when starting your subscription.
It will prompt you for a password. If it is your first time signing in, you create your password by entering it in the password field. Please write down your password in another secure place separately - you will need it again if you upgrade your machine or OS installation.
After a successful sign-in, Path Finder will detect the active subscription and unlock automatically.
No license key is needed for subscriptions – everything is linked to your email.
Where to find your status
At any time you can see your current status in:
Path Finder > Registration
Trial days remaining
Active license (key)
Active subscription (email/account)
Common activation checks
If activation doesn’t work as expected:
Make sure you are:
Using the correct email (for subscriptions), and/or
Using the correct license key in the License field (for perpetual licenses).
Confirm you have an active internet connection.
If you can’t sign in to a subscription, use “Forgot password?” for that email and try again.
Double-check that you’re using:
License key → in the License section,
Subscription email → in the Subscription / Account section.
If problems continue, contact support and include:
The email address you used to buy or subscribe
Whether you’re using a license key or a subscription
Any error messages or screenshots from Path Finder > Registration.
