Path Finder includes a built-in Text Editor so you can quickly edit text files without leaving the app.
Open a file in the Text Editor
In Path Finder, navigate to the text file you want to edit.
Double-click the file, or
Right-click and choose Open With > Text Editor (wording may vary by version).
The file will open in Path Finder’s integrated Text Editor instead of switching to another app.
Key features
The Text Editor typically supports:
Syntax highlighting for many programming languages
Line numbers for easier navigation in code or long files
Find and Replace to quickly update content
Encoding options so you can select or preserve the right text encoding
When to use the Text Editor
Use the built-in editor when you want to:
Make quick edits to scripts, config files, or notes
Inspect or tweak logs without opening another app
Stay inside Path Finder while doing light coding or text work
For heavy editing, you can still open files in your dedicated editor, but for quick changes, the built-in Text Editor is often faster.
