I've been using Path Finder for a couple years now without issue.
Today, I booted up to find the contents of my desktop folder, spewed all over my desktop.
I have "Hide Finder's desktop" checked within Path Finder's General tab preferences.
I realize I could simply move all contents from my desktop folder, but I really like the Path Finder "hide desktop" feature.

Thank you.

    Problem solved...

somehow "Show Path Finder desktop" was checked in the Path Finder pull down menu.

    time for some coffee...
