Do you have a CD or DVD disc in the drive. The drive won't show unless there is a disc in the drive.

Yes I get that, but while having a "blank" cd in the drive it does'nt display in the sidebar.
But,having a (example) a "purchased PF disk" in the drive it will display in the sidebar.
How can I copy something to the cd drive "or" reinstall something when the drive will not recognize it?

    Thanks
    SG

SG, you can't just copy something to the blank CD, you'll have to select a file/folder and use Commands > Burn. Let us know if you need more help.
