Pathfinder Desktop Retina issue when connected to an external display

When I connect my Retina MBP to an external display (Apple Cinema), the desktop icons and names on the MBPr become non-Retina. That is, the icons on the MBPr look good prior to attaching the external display, and are lower resolution on the MBPr after plugging in the display.

Note that if I switch to the finder desktop, the desktop icons and names are always in hi-res, regardless of whether an external monitor is attached. I have attached a screen shot of the MBPr display (with both desktops overlaid) with and without an external monitor attached.

    Hi,

Sorry for the slow reply, but I'd like to get a bit more information from you regarding this issue. We've seen a few similar issues with Retina Macbook Pro's, and most likely I'll be sending this issue to our dev team for further review.

Anyway, what exact version of Path Finder 6 are you using, and does this issue occur if you plug your MPBr into another display(like an HDTV or a non Apple monitor)? Also, if you aren't on the latest version, could you try updating PF6?

Hi Tom. It only occurs when an external display (27" cinema) is attached. I
am using the current version of PF6.

Yes, this is apparently the problem if your working environment contains both retina and non-retina displays. In such a case, desktop icons on the retina display are drawn as non-retina.

This will be fixed in one of the future releases. I'll close this for now, as the ticket is created and it's in our system.
