Dual Browser divider moves left when any item is selected

macOS 10.13.4, Pathfinder 7.6.2 (1729)

Dual Browser, Horizontal layout, Column or List View, (with or without Side bar) clicking any item in either side, causes the divider (between the two sides) to shift left a few pixels. The entire size of the window does not change, just the dividing bar moves left. Of course, the left side view can eventually become so narrow as to be useless! In Icon view, the same thing occurs but only when double0-cklicking an icon.

Dual Browser, Vertical layout works normally, however the columns/lists or naturally greatly reduced in height.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Enabling "Use separate shelf panes for dual browser" in PathFinder > Preferences > Browser should fix this.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

Sounds like a work around to a bug… see my ’sig’ below.

Actually, I already had that option ON/checked. But I had used the View Menu to turn OFF the “Bottom Shelf”. I will return the ’shelf’ to the bottom and see how it goes.

As a suggestion, it would be nice, IMHO, to have the choice of a ’shelf’ on only one of the dual sides, or have it connected, programmatically, to the SideBar or some other UI part. I usually leave the ’shelf’ showing Terminal, because that takes up the least vertical space, but I rarely need two Terminal processes at the same time. So many choices, so little time…

BTW, thanks for getting rid of the black background for the detailed search criteria area! :+)

    Have a great weekend!

    Hi,

Thank you for the detailed feedback! It really helps, we appreciate the contribution.

We are currently beta-testing the new, rewritten from a scratch version - PathFinder 8.
There is no sight of this issue there so far.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

Perhaps the 8.0.1 update fixes this problem? 8.0 did not.

I have this problem as well--and the splitter shift is not just a few pixels. In my case the shift is to specific position independent of previous position I specified. The option "Use separate shelf panes for dual browser" isn't present in my preferences, so I can't check it as suggested above. Please advise. I'm using Path Finder 8.5.4 on macOS 10.14.5.

    Hi,

In Path Finder 8, the divider and modules positions are independent.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.
