I'm evaluating Path Finder 6 and I can't figure out how to sort by name only. It wants to group all the files by Kind and then sort by name within that grouping. I did CMD+J and it says that it is sorting by name only. I can't find the files by name b/c they are scattered all over the listing.

Thanks!

Wait. It appears that it is only grouping by Kind on the first page of the results. As I scroll down I see that it does start grouping by Name, but that is only after the first page of the results. So the first page of the results aren't grouping by name and everything after that is. So confused.

Path Finder has a special feature called Smart Sorting available in Preferences > Browser. There, you can drag and order items or exclusively disable which types you don't want to be affected by Smart Sorting. Then, on the View Options, you can enable or disable Smart Sorting altogether for All windows or This window only (switch at the top left).
