Questions about memory usage and .DS_Store files

Hello. I would like to purchase the Path Finder 6 for Mac OsX Lion and first have a few questions.

  1. How much memory does it take to run Path Finder? Will it bog down my computer at all? I can not afford to lose any RAM.

  2. How does Path Finder handle .DS_Store files (and similar .xxx files created by finder)?
Does Path Finder use .DS_Store files to save the folder views? I cannot have this because I work off of a server and cannot afford to fill it full of invisible files.

  3. Will Path Finder replace Finder? (In my dock) as a separate application? Or is it more like a glorified skin, so to speak.

Thank you for your help! I look forward to using the software.

    1. Path Finder will use a minimum of about 60 MB of RAM, and as use increases the system will give Path Finder as much as it can afford.

    2. .DS_Store files are not generated by Path Finder, it uses its own internal database to store metadata.

    3. Path Finder is a separate application, though it allows you to remove the Finder from the dock and put Path Finder in its place.
