Hot Corners and "Show Desktop"

HI,

When using Apples Finder, its possible to swipe away all windows, edit for example a folder name on the desktop and swipe back all Windows again.
With Pathfinder, after the first "show desktop" a click on the desk brings back all windows again.
This happens all the time, when a Software different to Pathfinder is active when using the hot corner Feature.

Is it possible, to get the same functionality like Apples Finder?

Currently it's only possible if you use Path Finder with Finder's desktop enabled.
    I'll submit a bug report.

Stephan & David, can you test it again with PF 6.0.2 and Preferences > Features > Desktop > Use the Finder's desktop level enabled?

Thanks for the report, I spotted it the first time but I totally missed the part

This happens all the time, when a Software different to Pathfinder is active when using the hot corner Feature.

when talking about this issue, recently, with one of the devs.

There's already a ticket on it, can't you see it on the right column of this page (72, state: open)?

If you click directly onto an icon not he PF desktop it seems that the app focus remains on the app you were in, but the PF desktop behavior is fine. It's only if you click in empty space that you pop back to the focused app. I don't' remember exactly, but is that not the same behavior as when PF is not installed?

Three years later, this issue still bugs me every day. Is there any chance this will get fixed anytime soon? I don't want to use the Finder desktop.
    Thanks!

    Hi Stefan,

Sorry for the delay in reply.

Could you please specify, are you using PathFinder Desktop? Do you have this option enabled ?

Also, how exactly you've set up Hot Corners on your computer? You've used build-in Mac one?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hi, this is still not Stefan...

Yes, I am using PathFinder Desktop.
I have not setup hot corners at all, neither using a built-in nor a third party tool.

    Hi Stefan,

If you can, I wonder if you see any logging messages coming from Path Finder (use Console.app to see those messages) at the moment this irregularity happens?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi Stefan,

I am sorry, but I could not entirely understand the issue from that screen recording.
Whenever you click on your desktop your Wunderlist appears?

    So, what I do is.

    1. Have any application in foreground.
    2. Pinch-out with four fingers to move all windows to the side and show the desktop.
    3. Click anywhere on the desktop.
As soon as you click, the "show desktop" mode will stop and all windows will automatically slide in again, as if you were doing the four finger pinch-in. In my example video, I had Wunderlist in the foreground before pinching out, to which it automatically switched back as soon as I clicked anywhere on the desktop.

As "A" posted, this error still persists and is pretty annoying. And it is actually pretty easy to reproduce. I've attached a Video here that shows the error, where I followed the exact same steps as "A": http://drop.glorp.de/Hot-Corner-Expose-Desktop-Error-Path-Finder-IR...

Please give advice on how to fix this.

    Hey all,

it's 2017. The bug was reported first in 2012. And still this problem ist not solved.

@Cocoa Support team: Are there any actual developers in your company fixing issues? Whenever an issue is reported you answer with "is reported to the dev team" but no issue gets ever resolved.

Please, this issue can't be that hard to resolve.

    A patient customer,
    Ugur

    Hi Ugur,

Our developer is assigned to this thread so I am sure he's aware of this issue. Most likely, there are other tasks with higher priorities and a larger number of impacted users so the fix for this one has been delayed.

If the next update (after HS release) won't fix your issue, most likely, we'll have to wait for Path Finder 8 release.

    Sorry for the inconveniences.

    Eugene,
