Hi,
I just paid for version 6, which kind of upsets me to start with. I thought that because I'd been using a demo version of PF, that I couldn't use the screenshot clipboard functionality. Well, now I've paid for it and, still, it doesn't work. This is very, very simply. I really need to get a screenshot into an e-mail. And, it's very important to me. I could easily do this on my old PC. Why can't I do it here on my Mac now. All I want is a screenshot to the clipboard, then into my e-mail. Copy, then paste.

Thanks,
Peter

Peter, can you tell us the exacts steps you're taking to take a screenshot from Path Finder? I'm asking because it's working just fine, on my end.

I use the Path Finder pulldown from my top menu. I choose "Screen Capture to Clipboard." I go into the e-mail I'm trying to compose. I choose "paste" and nothing happens.

You may Have been thinking that this feature automatically captures the window that is foremost on the desktop: it does not.

Screen capture to clipboard brings up crosshairs, by clicking and dragging across the area to be selected you should get a capture to the clipboard.

I know that. That's what I did. I used the crosshairs to select the part of the screen I wanted. I heard a clicking sound as I always do. I went into my e-mail. I selected "paste." Nothing happened.

Peter, after taking the screenshot go to File > Reports > Pasteboards and see if your screenshot is there. When there's nothing on the clipboard to paste, the Paste option in Mail should be grayed out.
By the way, are you using any third-party clipboard manager app?

I looked in there and I see a bunch of stuff, a lot of past screenshots. I tried it again this morning, and, now it works! Go figure. Believe me, it didn't work yesterday. Meaning, I couldn't paste what was supposedly in the clipboard into a new e-mail. Maybe it's something to do with my Mac.

    Thanks,
    Peter
