Find hidden files in the find window
I saw some old threads on the subject, but nothing works for me. I have it set to Show invisible Files, i can see them but when I search for them in the window that opens when pressing command-F, they don't show up.
Background: my site was infected with SL-HTACCESS-GENERIC-aap.UNOFFICIAL, which creates a .htaccess file in each folder, I downloaded the site and now i want to find all .htaccess files and delete them in bulk
thanks

Hi Alex,
Do you use Search (not spotlight)? When you use the search plane, and use 'name', the invisibles do appear in the search.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
Uli

Hi Alex,
Sorry for the inconvenience.
The forum is integrated with our CRM system and it automatically closes tickets after each reply.
Every new reply reopens it, so other users should be able to comment and subscribe to your thread regardless its status.
May I ask you to follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:
1. Delete Path Finder and its traces via AppCleaner
2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests
Please note that the uninstallation disregards all preferences you have set on your end. If you’d like to save them, make sure to navigate to the following path and copy both preference file and folder to the safe location.
~/Users/your_username/Library/Application Support/Path Finder/Settings (folder) ~/Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/com.cocoatech.PathFinder.plist (list) Once you re-install your app, replace the new files in the same location, with a previously saved files.
Please feel free to write us back, and we will be happy to assist you.
Best Regards,
Uli

Hi Alex,
Could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of Path Finder process in a separate file? This will enable us to analyze what happens with the application.
Here's how to get it:
1. Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem. If the problem is dynamic (e.g. unexpected action result), please try reproducing it during the sample collection.
2. Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder.
3. Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type "Path Finder" in the Filter field.
4. Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled "Sample of Path Finder" and a sample of the process is collected.
5. Click Save and save the sample file.
6. Close (Command-W) the Sample window opened in step 2.
7. Send the sample file saved in step 5 to us.
Looking forward to your reply!
Best Regards,
Uli
