Path Finder and Network Volumes

When accessing network volumes and copying files to and from the Volumes, Path Finder locks up with a spinning circle and sometimes at up to 5 minutes to unlock. The is you access the same volume again the same thing happens, even if you have just accessed it.

    Not, the usage drops to zero and the app line changes to red and says “not responding"

    A finder window going to the same places goes straight in without pausing.

    Can you please specify if the following issue still persists once you update your Path Finder 10 to the latest version available, e.g. 10.1.1?

    Yes it still persists… It has been around for the last couple of years. When I use finder it accesses much faster (which didn’t used to be the case)

    Hi Ric,

    Could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of Path Finder process in a separate file? This will enable us to analyze what happens with the application.

    Here's how to get it:
    1. Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem. If the problem is dynamic (e.g. unexpected action result), please try reproducing it during the sample collection.
    2. Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder.
    3. Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type "Path Finder" in the Filter field.
    4. Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled "Sample of Path Finder" and a sample of the process is collected.
    5. Click Save and save the sample file.
    6. Close (Command-W) the Sample window opened in step 2.
    7. Send the sample file saved in step 5 to us.

    I am running into exactly the same problem. Unfortunately, this is precisely what I purchased Path Finder to do: sync a fold from two different Macs. I really hope this can be fixed soon. A couple of years is a bit too long to wait....
