Feature suggestion: Colored tabs by folder color

It would be great if there were an option to have the tabs colored to match 1) The OSX color of the current folder, 2) The OSX color of the nearest parent folder that has an assigned color.

Use case: For certain projects I keep data in one director named for example .../data/project67, and scripts in a folder called ...github/project_67.

When I have both tabs open, there is no way to distinguish between the two (my actual paths are way to long to have the whole path in the tab). If I colored the data/project67 blue and the github/project67 yellow, then option #1 would just color the tab when I'm in the folder, or option #2 would color all subdirectors of each blue/yellow.
