I have Path Finder 10 on a MBA M1 and Path Finder reports a different amount of empty space on my HDD than Finder does. I am able to copy large files if I use Finder but with Path Finder it says I do not have enough space.

    Hi there,
Mary from Path Finder support team here!

Path Finder reports the real used space including the backups (snapshots), cache, recently deleted (moved) files etc, while Finder cheats a bit by excluding them from the used figure, assuming they are temporary. Sometimes people and macOS itself refer to this space as Purgeable.

You can’t manually remove the files that are designated as Purgeable, but your system removes them when additional space is requested by you.

Don't hesitate to contact us should any questions arise.

    Best Regards,
    Path Finder Support Team
