Drag and Drop broken?

Situation: dragging a folder to a subfolder in the same tree with the intent to either copy or move.

Symptom: dragged content gets "stuck" to the mouse… subfolder springs after timeout, but will not drop.

Remedies: ESC does not release drag. Can't CMD-Q to quit PathFinder. Right click on icon to Force Quit does not respond. Only resolution is to use Quicksilver or Spotlight to open Activity Monitor and select PathFinder to quit. Can still CMD-tab to other apps, but item "stuck" to mouse follows.

Happens with USB mouse or trackpad. This has happened numerous times in PF 6. Presently running 6.0.1.

You can't really move nor copy a folder into any of its subfolders (nor sub-subfolders, no matter how deep into its hierarchy). That's why it doesn't drop. We wanted to indicate that with an appropriate cursor icon (the one with crossed circle, meaning "operation not allowed), but that icon is not properly supported by the API (yet) and if we force it to show, we introduce a lot of other problems with drag'n'drop icons. We're actively considering what could be the best way to inform user that the operation is not possible.

As of "dragged content gets "stuck" to the mouse", that should not happen. Does it happen every time you try to drag a folder into it's subfolder? Does it perhaps happen only when doing so on network volumes?
