Touch ID

Is there a way to activate Touch ID to validate actions in Path Finder. For example, when I need to give admin privileges to an app I'm launching, I'm required to put my password but can't use Touch ID. But if I do the same action in the finder, I can do it with Touch ID.
I know Path Finder is not an Apple App, but will there be the option some day or does Apple restrict that feature to their products/app only??

    Hi Jeremy,

Mary from Path Finder support here!

Unfortunately, at this moment being Path Finder does not support Touch Bar (which makes usage of Touch ID impossible), however, our developer plans to add its support within the next developments of Path Finder.

This feature itself might be possible down the road once the support is added, but in general, you are right, there are a lot of features which we can't implement due to private APIs Apple shares only with its own products. Thankfully, Touch ID can be implemented, and we'll be looking into it within the next developments of Path Finder.

Please feel free to write us back, and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
    Path Finder Support Team
