Path Finder 9.4
macOS 10.12.6

Sometimes when Path Finder locks up (spinning color cursor) when accessing a network share (AFP), I have to force-quit the app. At this point I cannot re-launch it. The dock still shows it as still running even though Command-Tab does not show the app anymore. The problem is I cannot run Path Finder again without restarting the laptop.

Are there any processes or daemons I can kill to restore the ability to re-launch the app without having to resort to restarting the system? This issue has been occuring since version 9, possibly 8 as well.

I've had this happen to me a few times. I had to reboot each time.
