I am finding increasingly that my Path Finder folders are not replicating my Finder files especially with items that have been synchronized with iCloud Drive. It's getting to the point where I can't really use Path Finder as most of the files I need to access are not showing. I've given Path Finder Full Disk Access. Any assistance to sort this out would be appreciated.

    Hi Evan,

Mary from Path Finder support here!

Can you please share with me the screenshots of the differences between Finder and Path Finder, so I can assist you further on this?

Additionally, please specify your macOS and PF version.

    Looking forward to your reply!

    Hi Mary,

Here's what I am finding is that in Path Finder and number files which Finder has synchronized with iCloud Drive are not showing in Path Finder. This includes files which are added as I work in Path Finder and then overtime disappear but remain in Finder.

I saw in some discussions that there was a need to give Path Finder full disk access which I've done. I've not gone through the terminal exercise as the reference I saw related to Mojave not Catalina.

I'm using Path Finder 9.3.5(2054) and Mac OS 10.15.5

    Hi Evan,

Mary from Path Finder support here!

As I can see on your screenshot, the file that are not displayed are the files located on your iCloud Drive and not stored locally.

I am here to let you know that that Path Finder "knows" and displays only of locally downloaded/synced files. There's no way we can know about other files, present only on iCloud server. That's the most common complaint people have about iCloud integration, but there's really nothing we can do about as no such integration is adopted by any third-party managers due to Apple's private APIs of iCloud.

If you'd like Path Finder to display the files and the folders, you would need to store them locally. Unfortunately, it is the only way for now.

Should you have anything else you need to address, please feel free to write us back, and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
    Mary

    Hi Mary,

Thank you for the update. This is unfortunate as I like using Path Finder a lot but if it's not able to show files that have been removed from the local drive and uploaded to iCloud Drive server's it makes it less useful for me.

    Hi Evan,

I totally understand your need to see these files, however, this is something that is not entirely dependable on us: as Apple does not share these APIs it is technically impossible for us to develop such feature on our end.

    Have a great day!

    Best Regards,
