Hi - I know first you want to know which version, so NOW I am using 9.3.4, we will come to this after...

I have been building a folder of images for later uploading to a database, all was well, but suddenly, newly added files dont show up in the folder. I can see them in FInder, and I can see them in folder-browser when opening from inside another app. I tried reload, makes no difference, I have added so far 800+ files, but can see only 780 or so.

Now, point two, the app has been bugging me to update the app, you know these reminders come all the time, so at a convenient point I clicked OK... now I have to pay again! I was quite happy with the previous version (subconsciously I thought maybe the update will fix the issue.

    Hi John,

Mary from Path Finder support here!

In order for me to best assist you and try to reproduce the issue on my end, I would like to ask you to make a screen recording of the issue and send it to us.
You can check on how to record a video recording here. After doing so, please upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox or any other storage provider and send a link to me.

You do not necessarily need to upgrade your license, however, this is the suggested thing as the most recent version is the one that is being updated and compatible with the latest macOS versions.

Nevertheless, if you'd like to continue using previous one, make sure to uninstall the Path Finder and download the earlier version available here once you scroll down.

You can avoid further automatic checks by writing into Path Finder preferences directly from the terminal. In Terminal.app execute:

    defaults write com.cocoatech.PathFinder SUEnableAutomaticChecks NO

That should disable automatic update checks, manual checks will still work.

    Looking forward to your reply!

    Best regards,
    Mary

    Hi John,

As I can see on my end, you have been using PF7 previously. You can access installation file for PF7 here.

In addition, can you clarify if the file you have created previously is not stored on your iCloud Drive? If it does, make sure you have loaded him to the hard drive and check the folder in the Path Finder once again.

If the file is already present on your hard drive, could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of Path Finder process in a separate file? This will enable us to analyze what happens with the application.

    Here's how to get it:
    1. Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem. If the problem is dynamic (e.g. unexpected action result), please try reproducing it during the sample collection.
    2. Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder.
    3. Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type "Path Finder" in the Filter field.
    4. Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled "Sample of Path Finder" and a sample of the process is collected.
    5. Click Save and save the sample file.
    6. Close (Command-W) the Sample window opened in step 2.
    7. Send the sample file saved in step 5 to us.

    Looking forward to your reply!

Thanks I downloaded PF7. However despite all effort it does not run, open
the app (PF7) and it indicates its open (dot beside icon) but no window
appears. Tried rebooting, etc, no luck. So unless you can tell me why (and
it was working OK before) I will need to update to PF9.

I have two devices, laptop and desktop, both identical confirmations. Do I
need to but twice? I only ever use one at a time…

    Hi John,

Sorry to hear about your issue.

Could you please clarify what macOS version is installed on your computer?

As for the licensing question, you can use the same license under two computers, as long as they are your personal machines.

    Looking forward to your reply!

Hi - its 10.12.6 High Sierra

I notice its selective, not all folders act like this, there are some that
act normally, but certain ones that don’t reflect the contents.

Hi - I finally upgraded and paid for PF9, PF7 simply would not work,
installed, deleted, three times, could not run it… not very happy on that
    point, but thats life.

What I am really frustrated about, and I cannot see if this is a PF issue
or OSX, is the PF9 and Finder are completely different, I can make folder
and file changes, in Finder and in the file management function of other
apps, I don’t see it in PF. It is not 100% though, some folders do update
and are matched with Finder, others (notably the one I am working in daily)
is not, now its so far out its making it impossible to use PF and I have to
rely on Finder, which I find clunky.

    Please help me solve this.

    John

    Hi John,

Mary from Path Finder support here!

First of all, I am sorry that you have run into inconveniences like this.

Can you please specify what is the macOS and PF version you use at this moment? Additionally, I'd like to ask you to provide us with a video recording of the discrepancies within folders between the Finder and Path Finder.

You can check on how to record a video recording here. After doing so, please upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox or any other storage provider and send a link to me.

    Looking forward to your reply!
