Create new folder with selected items

Strangely, there is one great feature in the standard Finder that I cannot seem to find in PathFinder, but it's a really often used one. I looked in the knowledge base and the forums, but didn't find anything about it, so forgive me if this has been addressed.

The feature I'm talking about is when you select a group of files, and right click them, you get the option "New Folder with Selection". It is a way to quickly move selected files into a new, as-yet-unmade folder. I use it all the time, but as I'm trying to transition to only use Pathfinder, its really frustrating to have to switch to Finder everytime I want to do this simple task.

Would love to be told how this can be done or pass this up to the dev team.

Also, tangential note, but I clicked the link listed as where to file feature requests, and the link was broken.

    Hi Gates,

Mary from Path Finder support here!

First of all, please accept my apologies for such a delayed response. I understand how frustrating it might be not to receive any response for such a long time. I apologize and will make sure this won't happen again.

Path Finder surely has the following feature, but by default you might not see it in your context menu when you right-click your selected files. Good news, you can add it to your contextual menu by navigating to Path Finder in the menu dock > click on Preferences > Features > Contextual Menu and drag-and-drop New Folder with Selection option from the left-side to right-side list.

Alternatively, use key command shortcuts for such option Control-Command-N set by default or action by navigating to File in the menu dock > New Folder with Selection.

Please feel free to write us back, and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
    Path Finder Support Team
