This is a problem that occurs every time on my iMac running Catalina.

Right click a file and select Move To from the context menu.
Navigate to a folder.
Click the New Folder button to create a new folder.
Navigate to the new folder.
Click the Choose Folder button.

PF locks up every time. Nothing is selectable. I need to kill the app and restart it.

    Hi there,

Mary from Path Finder support here!

First of all, please accept my apologies for such a delayed response. I understand how frustrating it might be not to receive any response for such a long time. I apologize and will make sure this won't happen again.

Can you please specify if the following issue still persists once you update your Path Finder 9 to the latest version available, e.g. 9.3.5?

Let me know how it goes!

    Best Regards,
    Mary

    Hi Mary.

Path Finder is at 9.3.5. Yes, the problem remains. Select one or more
files, select Move to..., create a new folder, select the folder, and PF
freezes. The only way I can recover is to Force Quit. The folder is created
but the file is not moved.

Thanks for following up -- Mike

    Hi Mike,

    I appreciate your update!

May I ask you to follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:
    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
    http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
(The AppCleaner option is highly recommended)  2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests
    4. Try to reproduce the issue once again.

Let me know how it goes!

    Best Regards,
    Mary

Hi Mary -- I used an app called AppDelete to remove all traces of PF from
my system, and reinstalled 9.3.5 (2054) from a fresh download.

The crash still occurs when I select files, use the "Move to..." command
from the context menu, create a new folder from the New Folder button in
the file navigation dialog, and then click Choose Folder. The folder is
created but the files are not moved. I can move the PF window around the
desktop but the menus are frozen and I cannot click inside the PF window. I
need to Force Quit to regain control.

A workaround: I can select files and then select the File>New Folder with
Selection command; the files are moved into the newly created folder and
the UI remains responsive. I can then move the folder where I want it.

I can also move files using the contextual Move To... command to an
existing folder anywhere on the system. The trouble occurs only when I
create a new folder from the Move To... file dialog.

Thanks again for your help. I lost all my customizations by deleting PF but
that's Ok; it's giving me a reason to explore some PF capabilities I've not
    been using.

    Regards,

    Mike Brown

    Hi Mike,

    I appreciate your update!

Could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of Path Finder process in a separate file? This will enable us to analyze what happens with the application.

    Here's how to get it:
    1. Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem. If the problem is dynamic (e.g. unexpected action result), please try reproducing it during the sample collection.
    2. Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder.
    3. Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type "Path Finder" in the Filter field.
    4. Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled "Sample of Path Finder" and a sample of the process is collected.
    5. Click Save and save the sample file.
    6. Close (Command-W) the Sample window opened in step 2.
    7. Send the sample file saved in step 5 to us.

    Looking forward to your reply!

    Best Regards,
    Mary

Hi. Thanks for sticking with this.

I have attached two files. The one labeled "before" comes from just before
I produced the problem. The one labeled "after" comes after I produced the
problem and PF was locked solid.

    Hope they're helpful.
