When I add a folder to the Favourites in the sidebar the alias is placed 7 positions above where I released the mouse. I couldn't find this behaviour reported in the discussions.

I'm using Path Finder Version 9.0.6 (2027)

When can I expect a response to this problem? I just installed version 9.0.7 and the problem still exists. Very annoying.

I am having the exact same problem. I cannot drag any file or folder into a specific position in the sidebar favorites. They always end up misplaced. This is really annoying and makes this feature pretty useless.

I don't mind NOT getting a response as long as reported bugs get fixed. Unfortunately still no fix in version 9.1 (2040).

    Hi Erik,

    Sorry for delayed reply!

Is it always 7 positions up, or is it more random?

Could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of Path Finder process in a separate file? This will enable us to analyze what happens with the application. Here's how to get it:

    1. Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem. If the problem is dynamic (e.g. unexpected action result), please try reproducing it during the sample collection.
    2. Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder.
    3. Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type "Path Finder" in the Filter field.
    4. Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled "Sample of Path Finder" and a sample of the process is collected.
    5. Click Save and save the sample file.
    6. Close (Command-W) the Sample window opened in step 2.
    7. Send the sample file saved in step 5 to us.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

    Hi Jordan,

Thanks for reaching out. Much appreciated.

    I have tested the following:
Created 3 empty test folders (PF-test1/2/3)
Added PF-test1 above folder 'Picture' in the side bar. It ended up 7 positions up (above folder ‘NNS')
Added PF-test2 above folder ‘D66' in the side bar. It ended up 4 positions up (bove folder ‘VOEKS-persoonlijk’)
Added PF-test3 above folder ‘publicaties’ in the side bar. It ended up 2 positions up (above folder ‘ZZ-dropbox … dreader-Erik’)

So the lower I add folders to my Favourites the more displaced they become.

See attached files for the results.

Looking forward to your analysis (and perhaps work around),
    Erik

I tried to capture the actions in a Sample in Activity Monitor but I’m not sure I actuaally managed to to this within the 3 seconds available. If you need this I can try again. Let me know.
