How the hell does one stop the upgrade nag? I don't want to pay for version 9! I'm perfectly content with version 8 (which I recently paid for). I have unchecked the box "Check for updates Automatically" as shown in the attached screenshot and it still nags me. Considering uninstalling altogether because of this.

Turning off the update check in PathFinder 8:

    defaults write com.cocoatech.PathFinder SUEnableAutomaticChecks NO

This should be in an FAQ or pinned topic, since it comes up fairly frequently. Or even better, PathFinder should honor the "Check for new updates automatically" check box!

    Hi Ed,

    I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, early in Path Finder 8 development (around 8.1) we've introduced an error that ignored the option to skip upgrades check, and we've received the reports on this only after Path Finder 9 release. It's been fixed in the most recent version.

For Path Finder 8, please follow this workaround:
    1. Quit Path Finder 8
    2. Type in the following command in terminal:
    defaults write com.cocoatech.PathFinder SUEnableAutomaticChecks NO

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan
