I've had a few times recently, and it is happening now, where I start up PF and all the Windows are completely transparent. Stopping and restarting gives the same result. I'm running P.F. 8.5.4 on Mac OS 10.14.5.

I found that if I hit CMD-Q and restart PF that it comes up normally, with just the main and module windows. When they were coming up as transparent there even more windows.

After a reboot the problem came back, and this time CMD-Q and a restart doesn't work. The windows are still transparent.

    Hi Beirne,

    Thanks for reporting this issue!

Could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of PathFinder process in a separate file? This will enable us to analyze what happens with the application. Here's how to get it:

    1. Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem.
    2. Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder.
    3. Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type "Path Finder" in the Filter field.
    4. Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled "Sample of Path Finder" and a sample of the process is collected.
    5. Click Save and save the sample file.
    6. Close (Command-W) the Sample window opened in step 2.
    7. Send the sample file saved in step 5 to us.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

One more detail. I rebooted my computer and the windows are still
transparent when I start up Path Finder.

    Hi beirne,

    Thank you for the sample!

I have forwarded your email to our developers. It may take some time to investigate the details of the issue.

Meanwhile, May I ask you to see if the issue persists in a brand new profile (you may create it in System Preferences -> Users & Groups and remove after the testing).

Be sure to let us know should any additional questions arise.

    Best Regards,

    Jordan,

The problem went away with my regular profile. It comes and goes. It
went away after a number of stops, restarts, and application crashes. It
has gone away and come back before, so I'll see what happens and await
    the results of the investigation.

    Thanks,
    Beirne

    Hi,

Was there anything in particular that caused such a display? Or perhaps any actions after which the window becomes transparent?

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.
