Flash Player (Path Finder Internet plug-in) quit unexpectedly.

Hi,

got the above message when trying to preview a .flv video.

Not sure where the plugin 'sits' and how to update if for Pathfinder if that's what is needed.

    Hi Iain,

    Are you able to reproduce this issue?

    Could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of Path Finder process in a separate file - this will enable us to analyze what happens with the application. Here's how to get it:

    1. Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem (if possible, try to reproduce it while the sample is collected).
    2. Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder.
    3. Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type "Path Finder" in the Filter field.
    4. Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled "Sample of Path Finder" and a sample of the process is collected.
    5. Click Save and save the sample file.
    6. Close (Command-W) the Sample window opened in step 2.
    7. Send the sample file saved in step 5 to us.

    Hi Jordan,
    I've tried to get the sample when I get the error.

    I have one of the sidebar panes as preview. I get the error as soon as I
    click on a .flv file. If the preview pane isn't open and I hit the space
    bar after selecting a .flv file I get a dialog box with the icon of VLC
    player (my default .flv video player) and the file details on the dialog
    box.

    Not sure whether this is a Pathfinder issue or not.

    In addition I've found that on occasion I can't eject an external disk
    in Pathfinder because the 'quicklookuiservice' won't quit when all video
    playing apps have been closed. I have to quit the service (for
    PathFinder) before the disk can be ejected.

    Maybe I should just uninstall Pathfinder and re-install?

    Regarding the "quicklookuiservice" occupying drives, it seems to be an issue with macOS preview used by Path Finder. It is a known issue and we've already submitted it to our developers. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hi Jordan,

    thanks for this.

    I may try to uninstall PathFinder after saving my browser and sidebar
    setups if I can and then reinstall and see if this cures it.

    Tried uninstalling PF (Hazel chucking out the ancillary files) but no dice. Still getting the error.
    Browsing around the Forums it looks like this has been an intermittent problem for some users for some time...
