PF8 confused between remote and local mountpoints with same name?

I uninstalled PF7 entirely using the instructions here...

https://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how...

Currently using PF8 trial, with OSX 10.14.5

I'm using my iMac, and try to mount my macbook in PathFinder (I am prompted which directory to access, so I select the remote home directory).

Now my username on the iMac and macbook are the same, so the user home directory is named the same too.
PF8 seems to mount the macbook ok, and so a 'paulC' entry appears in the Devices section of the sidebar.

But when I click this entry, it simply shows my iMac home directory (ie, shows local iMac /users/paulC, instead of remote macbook /users/paulC).

I've reproduced this every time, uninstalled, reinstalled, and rebooted many times.

If I open terminal and ls /Volumes/paulC, its showing the contents of the remote macbook mount as it should

    Nevermind.

After various other problems, once again I've upgraded back to PF7

It's a year since PF8 came out, and it's still just a complete abortion.
I love PF7, but now I'm very concerned about the future of Cocoatech :~(
