Upgrading from Pathfinder 7 to 8

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade from Pathfinder 7 to 8. I'm doing this via the "Check for updates" menu option within the application and then clicking on the "Install update" option. This always generates the error message below. Restarting Pathfinder doesn't work, neither does rebooting the machine. I've tried many times but always get the same message.

Update error - An error occurred while trying to download the file. Please try again later.

Can you help please? Thanks

    Hi John and Paddy,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Which version of macOS do you have installed? Path Finder 8 requires at least macOS 10.11 El Capitan.

Have you tried downloading Path Finder 8 directly from our site and installing it on top of Path Finder 7?

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Jordan,

    That didn't work.

I tried a range of things and always got the same result, so I have purchased a full license and installing and registering that worked fine.

    Regards,
    Paddy

    Hi Jordan,

I've just been able to resolve this upgrade issue. The problem was that when I tried to pay for the PF8 licence it was just showing $40 instead of the $20 I was entitled to as an existing PF7 user. However, this was because the window displaying the upgrade cost was so small that I couldn't initially see that there was further information below which then showed my $20 discount. I've therefore now managed to complete the upgrade OK, but it would be good if someone can look at the window size issue because I'm sure it will cause confusion for others.

    Thanks
    John

    Hi,

    Thanks for letting us know!

What resolution/display setting do you usually set? I will forward your report to our developers but a screenshot would be of great help if possible.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
