PF8 and 8.5 crashes every time I try to use it

I was hoping 8.5 would fix a problem I have had with continual crashes. The only good thing is that the crash occurs earlier after I start the application.

I have had issues with crashes since version 8. Sometimes the crashes tie up my Mac for several minutes, completely disabling me from working until it is resolved. A simple example today was changing from a details view to previewing a png file. That was the first time today. I tried it once more and it crashed when I wasn't using it; it was running behind a browser.

I would love to get this resolved so I can get my money's worth out of it. I used 7 without any issues.

    Hi Michael,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Which version of macOS are you running?

Could you please delete your preferences file ~/Library/Preferences/com.cocoatech.PathFinder.plist and check if the issue still persists?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,

Crashed again and getting frustrated as each renders my laptop useless for several minutes.

Are there any known compatibility issues that I should be aware of?

    Hi Michael,

May I ask you to follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
(The AppCleaner option is highly recommended)
    2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests

Let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

I followed the directions above and it still crashes. Not only does it crash, but it locks up my computer for about 5 minutes and I can't do anything when it happens. I'm extremely disappointed that I paid so much for a product that used to work well for me. Now, all I get is frustration. Please don't close this until I tell you it is fixed!
