Compressing files modifies date stamps drastically

Hello there,

I've been using Path Finder 8.3.9 (1928) for a couple of weeks now, and everything seems good and solid except for an issue I've just came across with the .zip compression tool.

It looks like when I compress files, the date stamps of those files are being drastically altered (post compression).

i.e. I had 20 .wav files which were all created on Weds 8th May 18:00. I then took all these files in Path Finder, and hit Right-Click > Compress.

When using the standard Mac OSX finder tool to extract them at the other side, I ended up with all files reporting timestamps either drastically in the past or the future. Please see screenshot.

The issue become obvious because I was then trying to drag these files into a piece of dev software which fell over due to these radical timestamps. As such, I'll currently need to use standard Mac OSX Finder for compressing files right now.

    Hey there,

Sure thing, I can try it if you like!

The only downside is I use it in quite a data heavy manner - this bug
completely threw our process out of the window today and we spent quite a
while figuring out what had gone wrong.

So I guess what I'm saying is, had you seen the issue before yourselves /
are confident it is fixed in this latest version? I'm in a busy crunch
period at the moment, so may have to opt for the stability of the older
version and just use MacOSX zip compression for now?

    Up to you!

    Cheers,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

We've used Stuffit as our archive engine and recently replaces it with all-new one, so it should be better and faster.

Please, open Path Finder in the menubar and click in "check for updates" while holding Option key to get beta update.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
