Tags causing Dropbox to Resync Files Endlessly

I'm using PF7 and integrating with Dropbox on a Mac running Mojave. Ever since the most recent Dropbox update (71.4.408), whenever I open, preview, or even select a file in Pathfinder that I've color tagged, Dropbox enters an endless syncing cycle for that file: about one sync per second. For ever. Even if I remove the color tag, the file will continue to resync infinitely. I've experimented with both Finder and Forklift3 and tags do not cause this problem, so the glitch seems to be Pathfinder/Dropbox specific. Is this a known problem? Is there a fix? Thanks.

    Hi,

    Thanks for contacting us!

Do you experience the same issue in Path Finder 8?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi Jordan:

I haven't tried Pathfinder 8. I'm not that invested in ponying up $20 to upgrade to what is by almost universal consensus a really flawed version that strips out a lot of the functionality of 7. My questions were about Pathfinder 7. I'll ask them again. Files in my Dropbox folder that are color tagged cause Dropbox to enter an endless resync cycle. Is this a known problem (with PF 7)? Is there a fix (for PF 7). Thanks!

    Hi,

It does not appear to be a known problem with Path Finder 7, your report seems to be the first one. I would suggest trying a clean reinstall.

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
(The AppCleaner option is highly recommended)
    2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests

Regrettably, we no longer provide support to legacy versions of Path Finder so no new updates will be released.

Thank you for understanding and please let us know should any questions arise.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

Thanks, but to repeat myself one more time, I'm not interested in paying $20 to update to Path Finder 8.

I will, however, be following your first suggestion, which is to "Delete Path Finder and its traces." Once I have, however, I think I'll be switching over to Fork Lift.

    Thanks
