Tags stopped working in PF7

I'm using PF7. Tags have stopped working properly. Tags assigned in Finder (I'm using High Sierra) appear in the "Tags and Rating" shelf area but I cannot add, change, or remove any tags there. The only way I can remove a tag in Path Finder is by going to the labels section of "Attributes" and clicking None; this means I cannot remove an uncolored tag. If I start to type the name of a tag in the box under the blue Tags heading in "Tags and Rating," it looks like it's going to work because a drop-down list of tags beginning with the letter I've typed appears but when I type a second letter it vanishes and I cannot select anything from that drop-down list. Also, when I I never used to experience any of these problems. The only thing I can think of that might have broken the tagging functionality (but I can't see how) is that I recently replaced my internal HD with an internal SSD, which changed the volume type to APFS. I'm not sure tagging broke when I did that; it's just the only significant recent change to the computer that I can think of. I completely uninstalled PF7 and all its associated files according to Cocoatech's instructions (and also deleted com.apple.finder.plist) and reinstalled PF7 but the problem persists.

    Hi,

    Thanks for contacting us!

Could you please specify the exact versions of Path Finder and macOS which you have installed?

Please, note that Path Finder 7 is an old version and as such no longer receives updates and may not work well with newest macOS versions.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi,

May I ask you to follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
(The AppCleaner option is highly recommended)
    2. Download the Path Finder 7.5 here: https://get.cocoatech.com/PF7.zip (we don't have 7.6.2, unfortunately, however all further improvements were directed to macOS Mojave support)
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests

We also recommend disabling the automatic update checker in Path Finder > Preferences > General.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

The link you provided is for 7.6.2, not 7.5.

I thought you were suggesting I install 7.5 but the link you provided was for 7.6.2. Since I had already tried a complete reinstall of 7.6.2, I didn't try again.
