Hello,

I have problem with PathFinder8 on MacOS.
Version is 8.3.9 (1928) but I have had this problem for some time already.
I think it started when I upgraded to MacOS Mojave.

PathFinder8 works just OK for me otherwise. But when I downlaod .dmg files and try to open them to install it does not seem to do anything. I can see that the file assosiation in PathFinder is DiskImageMounter.app.

The same .dmg opens just fine if I open it with Finder.app.

Could it be some access rights is missing?

I have PathFinder in MacOS Security&Private / Accessibility rights section.

    Hi,

Please follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Make sure that Path Finder is located in the Applications folder
(in case you are using macOS Mojave) Use System Preferences > Security & Privacy > grant Full Disk Access to Path Finder

    2. Open your terminal and paste the following command to check if Path Finder has been slapped with the quarantined extended attribute:
      xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

    3. If you see com.apple.quarantine returned as output from that last command, then go ahead and run this next command:
      xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

You won't get any feedback or output from that command, but that's okay because you can just run the first command again to see for yourself if the com.apple.quarantine attribute shows up again. It shouldn't, and now Path Finder is freed from Apple quarantine jail. Restart your PathFinder now.

Don't hesitate to contact us should any questions arise.

    Hi,

    Thanks for quick reply!

    1) I added Full disk access too for Path Finder

    It also has 'accessibilty' rights:

    2) Path Finder is in /Applications folder

    ~ ᐅ ls /Applications/Path\ Finder.app/
    Contents/

    3) Quarantine listing does not show anything:

    ~ ᐅ xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"
    ~ ᐅ

But still I cannot open dmg files using Path Finder.

There is an attachment with screen recorded when double-clicking .dmg file

    Hi Ilari,

May I ask you to follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
(The AppCleaner option is highly recommended)
    2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi,

Uninstall (with Appcleaner) and re-install solved the problem.
