Currently I cannot select multiple files in symbols view discontigously (Pathfinder 8.3.9 1928).

Steps to reproduce:
Select one file (e.g. click on it)
Press and (move cursor) --> the end of the selection area is moved / multiple files are continuously selected
-click a different file --> this file gets selected additionally
--> everything as expected so far

Now:
Press and (move cursor) --> the beginning of the firstly selected area is changed
--> this ist what is NOT expected

Expected behaviour: the end of the secondly selected area is changed (new files are attached, like in finder!)

The forum does not display the keys that i put into brackets. That's why again without brackets:

    Hi Holger,

    Thanks for contacting us!

Are you in the icons view mode? Do I understand you correctly that you would expect the Shift-Selection to start from the last selected file vs the first file in the current order?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,
