Find function, revisited

Guys, women, cyborgs,
I'm tired now of having to go off-campus to get an adequate find. Clunky as it is, when it does find something it gives no path to it. This has been known for at least a year now. I would like to stay in PF for all but specialized find. What do you think? Still with the developers?

    Hi Fred,

    Thanks for messaging us!

Any chance you could share more details?
We'd appreciate more detailed feedback on the Find feature and I would be glad to assist you with discovering some feature you're missing which may be already present.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

I'll try to illustrate. As an exercise, I'm searching for the string *pedro*
in Computer, Home (fred), and Documents. I know that there are at least
four files with that string in Documents, which itself is a subfolder of
Home and, of course, of Computer. I set Find to Content and Contains. I'll
attach the results of the three Find attempts as screenshots; you can see
that fifteen files show up for the search Computer, including, I'll inform
you, of the four that reside in a subfolder within Documents. But,
searching Documents, which contains the four files, or Home (fred), which
is Documents parent folder, shows "0 items." Why? Am I misunderstanding
    something?
Related to this is the need to right (or ctrl) click an individual file
then choose show in path finder (or whatever) and be taken to a new PF
window to see where the file resides. Why the extra, awkward steps, and the
    extra screen real estate required?
Thanks for paying attention to this. Let me know if there's anything
    unclear in my complaint.

    Hi Fred,

    Thank you for reporting this.

The "Find" window will become obsolete very soon. In one of the soon coming PF8 updates, the "Find" window will be completely removed and its functionality will be incorporated into the standard browser window.
Hence you'll get "find" functionality in every browser window and in each of its panes (left/top, bottom/right) when you work in dual pane mode.

I will forward your messages to our development team so the quality of searching will be also improved in the coming updates.

Don't hesitate to contact us should any further questions arise.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

Alright Jordan. It would be a shame if the search function did not improve
    with the upcoming implementation.
