Mohave Path Finder 8 - Get Info causes Path Finder hang

I seem to have an issue with Path Finder 8 on Mojave. Whenever I select Get Info on a file under pathfinder 8, I get the beachball and hang of the Path Finder application. I eventually have to force quit the application to recover. I can only force quit after several minutes of the hang. This does not occur with Get Info under finder. Also does not occur with Path Finder 8 on my other High Sierra systems. Seems to be an issue only under Mojave and Path Finder 8. I have total uninstalled Path Finder 8 and reinstalled but immediate have the same issue even after a new fresh installation of the application.

Any clues as to what may be happening or what else to try to resolve?

    Hi,

Thank you for reporting this issue.
Please confirm, have you used AppCleaner reinstalling the app?

    Looking forward to your reply.

No .. I do not use AppCleaner. I uninstalled and deleted all of the files and directories as published in your complete uninstall posts. I ten reinstalled the product from scratch. After the reinstalltion (with no customizations or preferences set) using the base configuration, I simply choose Get Info on any file and the hang occurs.

    Hi Dean,

Please follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Make sure that Path Finder is located in the Applications folder
(in case you are using macOS Mojave) Use System Preferences > Security & Privacy > grant Full Disk Access to Path Finder

    2. Open your terminal and paste the following command to check if Path Finder has been slapped with the quarantined extended attribute:
      xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

    3. If you see com.apple.quarantine returned as output from that last command, then go ahead and run this next command:
      xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

You won't get any feedback or output from that command, but that's okay because you can just run the first command again to see for yourself if the com.apple.quarantine attribute shows up again. It shouldn't, and now Path Finder is freed from Apple quarantine jail. Restart your PathFinder now.

In case the issue persists, could you please check if removing "info" module (with little "x" to the right of the info module header) from Get Info window improves the performance?

Don't hesitate to contact us should any questions arise.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

I performed all of the steps and the problem persisted until the very last recommendation on removing the info module.

After removing the info module, I can invoke get info without a hang. Does this help narrow down what the issue may be?

Is there a way to add the info module back in without the hang? This information is vital to the get info process.

Please advise on next steps to further troubleshoot the issue and resolve.

    Best regards,
    Dean

    Hi Dean,

You may add info module from Window -> Modules to the Get Info window or as a part of main Path Finder window.
Please let me know if info as a part of main window causes any issues.

We've got a few reports on this behavior and reported this issue to our development team.
For now, there are no known workarounds.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,

When I add the info pane back into the Get Info panel, it works as expected until Path Finder is restarted.

After a Path Finder restart, the error condition returns and the Path Finder application hangs whenever the Get Info panel is invoked (when the info pane is present in the Get Info panel).

Please let me know if you need any additional from me and what we can do to get a solution to this issue.

    Best regards,
    Dean

I have exactly the same issue. I also had to force shutdown the whole mac, because it locked the system. For now a real show-stopper.
