damaging software

I installed Path finder ( OS 10.14.3) on my previously fully functional macbookpro. Never again. All icons disappeared from desktop and no answer on internet or this website. I had to do a complete reinstall of my system to return to normal which failed 3 tieme before a reinstall of Mojave and a reinstall of backup files from a secondary backup disc.. Now this can not be a first on a new(ish) Macbook pro. I'm tired of software that damages and offers no solutions without wading through reams of specialised information so solve a problem. We are addicted to computers to the extent that we need them to work properly to do our jobs which are not all in IT. I've never yet come across a 'Help file' that actually helps anything at all. I stopped using windows because the software is about as fragile as an infant and takes so much babysitting to work that it's next to useless and I used it for over 20 yrs. I certainly hope Mac does not go the same way ( now a Mac user for 5 yrs). Sick to death of badly designed sofware.

John, just a thought… In Path FInder's preferences, under the Finder tab there's a checkbox to Hide Finder's desktop. That may be causing the problem you're encountering.

    Hi John,

    Sorry to hear about this.

Sounds like Path Finder Desktop was hidden and Finder's one wasn't enabled.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan
