Compression in Dual Browser Mode

Hello.
When I have two browser panes open (one for my computer and one for a remote server) and I create a .zip file using the Compress command, the compressed file is created in the remote pane not the pane where the original folder is located. This has the effect of copying the .zip file to some unrelated folder on the remote server, rather than storing it in the proper folder on my computer.

Checking the "Compress into same folder as original" box on the Compression preferences pane does not prevent this from happening. Is there another setting I need to adjust?

Thanks!
