slow/lag scrolling

When I use pathfinder in folders with a lot of elements, in the classic icon view, when I try to scroll it goes very wrong. Compared to Finder, which looks completely flowing when scrolling, pathfinder goes tremendously slow until it becomes difficult to follow the scroll's movement.

This is exactly what makes me skip to pathfinder.

MacOS Mojave 10.14.2
Path Finder 8.3.7

    Hi Alberto,

May I ask you to follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
    2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests

Let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

    Hi Alberto,

Please follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Make sure that Path Finder is located in the Applications folder
(in case you are using macOS Mojave) Use System Preferences > Security & Privacy > grant Full Disk Access to Path Finder

    2. Open your terminal and paste the following command to check if Path Finder has been slapped with the quarantined extended attribute:
      xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

    3. If you see com.apple.quarantine returned as output from that last command, then go ahead and run this next command:
      xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

You won't get any feedback or output from that command, but that's okay because you can just run the first command again to see for yourself if the com.apple.quarantine attribute shows up again. It shouldn't, and now Path Finder is freed from Apple quarantine jail. Restart your PathFinder now.

Don't hesitate to contact us should any questions arise.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

The problem persist. It appear that Path Finder doesn't render icons at same speed than finder. If I remove all controls and panels and only see icons the problem exist when I have near to 30 icons in the windows, but practically doesn't exist with 15 icons. Probably finder render at 60fps, or maybe more, I don't know. But Path Finder have problems to achieve 30fps.

    Hi Alberto,

Could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of PathFinder process in a separate file - this will enable us to analyze what happens with the application. Here's how to get it:

    1. Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem.
    2. Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder.
    3. Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type "Path Finder" in the Filter field.
    4. Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled "Sample of Path Finder" and a sample of the process is collected.
    5. Click Save and save the sample file.
    6. Close (Command-W) the Sample window opened in step 2.
    7. Send the sample file saved in step 5 to us.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,

Also, I have checked the CPU and energy use of path finder when I scroll, near to 95% of CPU usage and 88 of power consumption.

    Hi Alberto,

Please choose a .txt file, open Preview module preferences (gear button next to its header) and uncheck "Colorize syntax".

Also, it may be worth trying to restore defaults for View Settings (cmd+J).
Make sure to have "Calculate all sizes" unchecked here.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Hi

I have tried the default view and colorize syntax. No improve with this.

About "calculate all sizes" the problem happens in icon view, no list view, so I cannot change the propertie. Anyway, it's unchecked in list view.
