Cannot see mounted drive on another computer

I use Espionage to mount a drive (sparsebundle) to a folder in Documents on my iMac. I can see this drive when looking at it from my MacBook Pro, using Finder, but not when using Path Finder 8. Is there any way to make this happen? The path is smb://MacX2/.../Documents/VV, where VV is an existing folder that the sparsebundle is mounted to.

Hope you can help.

    Hi Dwight,

Please follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Make sure that Path Finder is located in the Applications folder
(in case you are using macOS Mojave) Use System Preferences > Security & Privacy > grant Full Disk Access to Path Finder

    2. Open your terminal and paste the following command to check if Path Finder has been slapped with the quarantined extended attribute:
      xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

    3. If you see com.apple.quarantine returned as output from that last command, then go ahead and run this next command:
      xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

You won't get any feedback or output from that command, but that's okay because you can just run the first command again to see for yourself if the com.apple.quarantine attribute shows up again. It shouldn't, and now Path Finder is freed from Apple quarantine jail. Restart your PathFinder now.

Don't hesitate to contact us should any questions arise.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

    Hello Jordan,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

The return from the command "xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app" was a
blank line. Guess that means the app is not quarantined.

I'll try whatever you suggest to solve this problem.

I am still on High Sierra, v10.13.6 on both macs.

    Hi Dwight,

I can suggest cleaning up PF's preferences but, unfortunately, I can't guarantee the result.
Would you like to follow the instructions below and check if the issue still persists?

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
    2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests

Let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

    Jordan,

It seems to have worked. I can see the Espionage drives attached to those
folders now from my MacBook Pro to the iMac and visa versa.

    Thanks for your assistance!

I have another question, if you don't mind. Be happy to create another
    ticket if you want.

I have used, in the past, both Commander One and SyncMate. One thing they
both do that Path Finder does not seem to be able to do is allow me to see
an Android phone in the file browser. Commander One probably does this
with a plugin that allows MTP devices to be seen within it's window.
SyncMate, on the other hand, mounts the devices so that they can be
manipulated within Finder. Is there a way to do this within Path Finder?
Android File Transfer is not the answer, since it will not mount the
devices for Finder use. Mounting the drives for use within Path Finder,
without having to run another program, such as SyncMate, is the requirement.

Thanks, again, for your assistance, Jordan.

    Hi Dwight,

I'm afraid Path Finder doesn't come with a built-in plugin to mount Android devices, unfortunately.
I can submit this feature request to our developers but is not likely to be our short-term priority.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    OK, thanks Jordan.

Please do submit this. The more people that ask for it, the more likely it
will get a decent priority. A huge number of Android users are also Mac
    users.
