Path Finder 8.2.2 doesn't not work properly in column mode

I installed PF 8.2.2 this morning on my 2012 iMac running maxOS High Sierra. In column mode, the behavior when I select a folder is bizarre and a bit dangerous. Clicking on the folder icon or name just causes the column boundary to flash blue. None of the files in the folder are shown. If, however, I click the right facing carat, the folder contents are shown, but when I click another folder in the first column, the previously clicked folder is moved to the trash. The problem persists after closing and reopening the app, and after a reboot. This bug, of course, renders the app worse than merely useless. Is there some way to restore PF 8.2.1?

When is the problem going to be fixed?
Can't you just revert to the previous version and send us an update as soon as possible?

I only work in column view so this issue caused me a great problem.
I cannot wait for a fix for this, I have to work efficiently.
Fortunately Time Machine "fixed it" for me.
I restored Version 8.2.1 and everything works nice again.

    Hi to all!

Please update to the newer version 8.2.4 (build 1892), which fixes this problem. You can download it directly here, or use in-app updater by selecting Path Finder > Check for Updates… in the main menu.

Thanks for your patience and support.

    ok!
Installed Version 8.2.4 (build 1892), everything seems to work fine, no sign of the "columns problem".
    Thanks!

    Hi Jordan,

Seems to be yet another ominous silence regarding the issue of not being able to change file names manually ........ any sensible update on this as it actually orevents me using pathfinder fully and forces me to have pathfinder AND finder running at the same time so I can rename files/folders ????

    Simon Barnett,

I've been trying to reproduce this for days, without success. I also tried to figure out what could go wrong looking into related source code, also without success. A couple of questions:

    1. Does it happen in the columns view only, or in other view types as well?

    2. Go to PF Browser preferences and enable Double-click when clicking icon. Then return to PF into the view type sporting renaming problems and then click on the file icon (precisely on the icon) and see if that opens the file (just like double-click). Does that work?

    3. Do you have installed any application that might "steal" mouse of key events (Keyboard Maestro or something)?

    4. Create completely new, fresh user account on the same machine (that shows the problem with the current account you're using). Does the problem exist under that new account too?

8.2.4 has fixed the inability to to select items in column view but still not able to rename files in column view (except for less than 5% of the time) which has been the case in v8.
