Memory leak issues with PathFInder 8 - Can reproduce easily.

This is the same issue that I had with PF7 as well. However, this time, I can easily reproduce the problem PF started at 3.1G when I started my latest tests, and it's currently reach 4.5G. What I do is:

  1. Open a directory with a large number of items in it. Normally my "Downloads" folder
  2. Run the following script in a terminal window:
    while true ; do for i in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10; do touch ~/Downloads/$i-sentinel.txt; done; sleep 5; rm ~/Downloads/*-sentinel.txt; sleep 2;done
  3. Watch the memory footprint increase and increase

This was happening when I had a folder open, and in that folder I was unzipping and re-zipping up a large number of files. When I noticed that the memory was footprint was increasing, it got me thinking that the files may have something to do with it and I cam up with the small script above to test it. The sleeps are to make sure that PF notices the files are there and also have been removed.

    Please choose a .txt file, open Preview module preferences (gear button next to its header) and uncheck "Colorize syntax". 

    Also, it may be worth trying to restore defaults for View Settings (cmd+J).
    Make sure to have "Calculate all sizes" unchecked here.
