Lock tabs

Hallo
I use PF 7.6.2 and always one feature, which I know from Total Commander (for Windows only) I miss often: to be able to fix/lock a tab, so that it is not possible to close it without a separate messagebox with e.g. "Do you really want to close this locked tab?".
When changing the folder in this tab, PF should just open a new tab, keeping the fixed tab in same folder position.
All clear?
I mean e.g.: I have my first tab with "Desktop" and I want always keep this first tab on this Desktop-folder. If I navigate in it, and double click another folder, PF just opens that other folder by opening a new tab and still my first tab is the Desktop folder.
I could fix more than one folder and on both sides, if I use separated view (2 views vertical devided).

In that Total Commander this feature is since long integrated and very handy.
But Totalcmd is only for Windows and since I know Mac for many years, I didn't find any comparable app to it for Mac. PF comes the nearest, though.

Thanks.

frank

    Hi Frank,

I'm afraid there is no option to fix tabs at the moment.
But here's a workaround that I can suggest:
Create a tab set via File > Tabs.
Having done that, you will be able to assign a shortcut to it via PathFinder > Preferences > Features > Keyboard.

This way you will be able to bring back the tabs you need with a quick shortcut.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

Thank. The Tab Set Feature is nice and I use it, but it is not exact what I want.
If I have one fixed Tab it is much different than it is if all Tabs are changed, when I bring back the whole Tab Set with a Keyboard shortcut (or by menu).
I want to keep always one tab but all the others will surely change and I don't want to loose them.
But thank anyway, will it be accepted as feature request at least?
